New owner at Brazilian restaurant brings change

Now under new management, the Gaucho Grill has changed several items on its menu including six items in the buffet.

Brandon Summers, the owner of the restaurant, worked with his chefs to recreate the recipe for dishes like the pineapple and orange chicken, beef stroganoff and collard greens as well as adding cauliflower broccoli salad to its menu. The three-bean salad and the meatballs have been taken off the menu.

“This is a new beginning for us,” Summers said. “It gives us the chance to change some things. We are putting more quality in our meat trays and in our service with the dining and the kitchen staff.”

The restaurant was previously co-owned by Summers and Paulo Guimaraes. Guimaraes left to pursue another job offer at the end of January.

“In Brazil there is an expression which says the key to success is meat,“ said Mercelo Mearcondes, who was promoted to general manager when Summers took over. “We have 12 different meats that can be served in several different ways so are able to get your meat exactly how you want it.”
